Prevention

The Trauma Network works collaboratively with other agencies to try and prevent serious injury.

Falls of less than two meters currently account for more than half of major trauma in the East, and are most common in those over 65 years.  Falls in older people can have a significant impact on their health and wellbeing, but there are many steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of falling.  Click here for advice from the NHS.  Advice on safety around the home is available from RoSPA here

Road traffic collisions are one of the most common causes of major trauma in the UK. Local Road Safety Partnerships / Casualty Reduction Boards are usually the focus of expertise in reducing deaths and injuries caused on our roads. They bring together local councils, police, fire, ambulance, NHS, Highways Agency, and experts in this area.
