The EoE Trauma Network, in collaboration with the EoE Critical Care Network, set up the EoE Tracheostomy Working Group in 2015. A group of clinical and non-clinical professionals from around the region to explore the issues surrounding people with tracheostomies in the community setting. The idea of living with a tracheostomy in the community can be daunting. This short video, which is divided into six chapters, is aimed at providing information for the person affected, their families and the people involved in their care and seeks to improve knowledge and confidence in approaching tracheostomy care: Community Tracheostomy Care Video
The Living with a Tracheostomy leaflet can be issued to patients and contains useful information on emergency management of tracheostomy-related emergencies.
The EoE Tracheostomy Working Group has written regional guidelines to standardise tracheostomy care in the community.
