What we do

The Network Coordination Service (NCS) is part of the East of England Trauma Network. This is an Emergency Medicine consultant delivered 24/7 service hosted by Cambridge University Hospitals, the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) for the East of England.

The service:

  • Provides remote telephone support and specialist clinical advice to both trauma units and pre-hospital clinicians for patients suffering from major trauma.

  • Authorises trauma unit bypass requests for pre-hospital clinicians.

  • Coordinates secondary transfers from trauma units to the MTC.
