Privacy notice

The East of England Trauma Network is hosted by Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, for the purposes of bringing together all the NHS services involved in the care of the seriously injured person, from the ambulance service responding to the 999 call to the rehabilitation services providing ongoing care and support. We work with all providers to improve care, reduce disability and reduce deaths from major trauma.

We are committed to protecting your privacy, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and undertake not to use any information we may hold about you for any purpose other than that for which it was collected.

​Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information.  In order to comply with this lawful basis:

  1. We do not automatically capture or store personal information through our websites except in the cases outlined below. Under no circumstances, do we use your data for anything other than the purpose for which it has been collected.

  2. We use Google analytics to track how people use our site. This process uses cookies to recognise returning visitors. All the information collected is anonymous and we do not use it for any other purpose.

  3. You can opt out of cookies at any time, following the instructions in your browser. These are typically found under ‘Tools’ and ‘Options’ (PC) or ‘Preferences’ (Mac) though the details vary from browser to browser.

  5. Website forms. At certain times you may be asked to fill in information about yourself on the site. This information will only be used for the purpose stated in each case. We will not distribute personal information collected in this way to any third party.

  6. We may analyse statistical trends based on responses to forms etc to help us to improve our services, however this analysis will not include personal information.

  7. Although we will always treat the information you send us with the strictest confidence, we cannot guarantee the security of the world wide web.  All reasonable actions have been taken to protect the security and confidentiality of your data.  However, it is possible, though very unlikely, that someone other than ourselves could access and read information sent to us in this way. If you feel concerned about this, please use another form of contact, e.g. telephone or post.

  8. This privacy policy only covers www.eoetraumanetwork.nhs.uk. Our site does link to other websites which will have their own privacy policies and we cannot be held responsible or liable for how they may use your data.
